High Cholesterol is a disease of the Metabolism.Cholesterol is a kind of fat. The human body needs Cholesterol to manufacture Hormones and Vitamin D. It is needed to digest the food. Cholesterol is carried in the body by the blood.
When the amount of Cholesterol is normal, the body is healthy. When the amount of Cholesterol increases in the blood, the body becomes diseased.

About 60% of the Cholesterol in the body is produced by the Liver. It is the unabsorbed Cholesterol that creates the problems.
Cholesterol is of two types:
LDL (low density lipoprotein )
HDL (high density lipoprotein)
LDL is bad and HDL is good. The Lipoproteins keep a check on the levels of cholesterol.
Why is LDL known as BAD Cholesterol?
When there is an imbalance of Cholesterol level in the Body, the LDL Cholesterol forms plaque and adheres to the arteries. It blocks the flow of blood and starves the heart of oxygen. This condition is known as Arteriosclerosis. It is dealt with separately on this portal.
Partial blockage of the arteries may lead to High Blood Pressure or Atherosclerosis. A severe blockage will result in a coronary heart disease or heart attack.
Normal Range of LDL is 100mg/dl. If the level rises, it may cause complications.

Boil some Lemon grass in water and have a cup of decoction every day to help reduce high cholesterol.
Rosehip reduces the stress in the blood streams and prevents the risk of Heart Attack. It reduces the high levels of Cholesterol in the bloodstreams. It also reduces the risk of Cardiovascular diseases.
Have a cup of Rosehip tea every day to help reduce high cholesterol.
Mix 5 gram Spirulina powder in a half glass of lukewarm water. Drink it once a day to maintain your cholesterol level.
Put a few fresh Guava ( Amrood ) leaves in 150 ml of boiling water. Boil it for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain it off. Drink this decoction for 3 months.
Dry roast some Watermelon seeds and crush to make powder. Add One tablespoon powder in a glass of water and Drink Once a day.
